The Next Meeting of TNWoU is May 10th

Join us for the next meeting of TNWoU Chicago's leading Macintosh User Groups.

The Northwest of Us will meet on May 10th at the Hotel Indigo in Palatine near Northwest Hwy and Rt 53. The new users group starts at 8:30am followed by the general meeting at 10:00 am. Guests are always welcome and are invited to bring a friend who is interested in Macintosh computers.

This meeting will focus on Filemaker Pro and a representative will be in attendance to explain and demo the product.

This general meeting topic will How to correct your holiday photos. Long time Mac Specialist and graphics expert Ron Herrman will demonstrate how to make corrections using Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Iphoto.

The Northwest of Us will meet on December 8th at the Holiday Inn in Rolling Meadows near Algonquin and Rt 53. The new users group starts at 8:30am followed by the general meeting at 10:00 am. Guests are always welcome and are invited to bring a friend who is interested in Macintosh.

If you wish to attend as a guest you are invited to just show up or you can let us know you are coming by completing our guest registration form. This allows us to greet you personally at the door and introduce you to others.

This general meeting topic will be on the new program called Bento by Filemaker. Representatives will demo the program and answer questions. You may purchase the software at a discount at the end of the presentation.

Also presenting at this meeting will be ABT Electronics/Apple Store. See what great gifts are available from the Apple Store at ABT. Discounts will be available.

TNWoU member Art Shay publishes his 60th book

Art Shay's 60th book "Chicago's Nelson Algren" is coming out this week. The Monday Sun Times will have a column about the cover picture of Algren with a hooker.Nov. 2 at 7 PM Shay will be signing books at The Book Stall, Winnetka...808 Elm Street....The National Portrait Gallery and Art Institute have just about a dozen of Shay's Chicago pictures///...If there's a demand , I'd be glad to do a signing at the next meeting for NWOU fellow members...Art Shay
